Cologne is a fascinating city. In the old town alone, there is so much to see and experience that one day is hardly enough, at least not if you are on foot. And the opposite side of the Rhine, the so-called "Schäl Sick", also has a lot to offer. Our Segway tour "Classic Colonia" offers the possibility to combine Cologne sightseeing with Segway driving fun.
You are in Cologne for the first time? Then the Segway tour is probably the most beautiful way to explore and discover the city. And Cologne connoisseurs get to know the city in a completely different way.
We welcome you in our store: Mühlenbach 18, 50676 Cologne. There, experienced guides will instruct you in the art of Segway riding. But don't worry: It's definitely not as hard as it might look at first glance. After just a few minutes on the Segway, you will feel comfortable and we can start the tour.
First, we drive through the streets in a very relaxed way to the banks of the Rhine and pass the famous Chocolate Museum and the German Sports and Olympic Museum. This brings us to the Rheinauhafen with its spectacular crane houses. On the three buildings, which are unique in the world, there are jibs at a height of 40 meters, which are supposed to remind of a crane and which only rest on slim, fully glazed stair towers.
We glide under the buildings before slowly turning off and setting course for the old town. We pass Heumarkt, the famous Alter Markt and through the old town alleys to the magnificent Heinzelmännchenbrunnen (Heinzelmännchen fountain), erected in the 19th century in honor of the industrious helpers from the well-known Cologne legend.
We take a break with a glass of "Früh-Kölsch" and then, well fortified, tackle the Rhine crossing. Passing an estimated one million love locks, we wind our way on the Hohenzollern Bridge through the numerous cyclists, pedestrians and rickshaw drivers to reach Deutz. Once there, we can enjoy a view of the Cologne skyline and the cathedral.
Passing the "KölnTriangle", an office building with a viewing platform that stretches more than 100 meters into the Cologne sky, the Messeturm and the old exhibition halls, where today RTL produces TV shows, we arrive at the 40-hectare Rhine Park, where the Federal Garden Show has already been held twice.
We cross the park, can accelerate electrically and almost silently on the wide paths to just under 20 km/h and enjoy nature and the colorful hustle and bustle. After an extended lap through the green oasis of Cologne, we pass the Tanzbrunnen, the Hotel Hyatt Regency Cologne, Kennedy-Ufer, Rheinboulevard and over the Deutzer Brücke back to the store.
